The Dance Zone November 2026 Newsletter

Dear Dance Zone Families,

As we move further into our dance season, we would like to share a few important reminders, updates, and announcements. Thank you for your continued support and for being part of our Dance Zone family!

Costume Deposits - Recreational Program

This is a friendly reminder that costume deposits are now due for all recreational students.

Costume deposit amounts:

  • Girls: $75

  • Boys: $50

Costume information by age group:

  • BabyTots/Tiny Tots and Little Steps (ages 3-8): One costume will be provided for ballet, jazz, tap, and acro. Hip hop requires a separate costume and an additional deposit.

  • Senior Classes (ages 9-12, 1-hour classes): A separate costume is required for each dance.

Costume deposits have been posted to your account. Please log in to your online parent portal to submit your payment as soon as possible.

If you are experiencing any difficulties logging in, please email us at tdancezone@gmail.com

If you prefer, we would also be happy to process your payment using the credit card already on file. Please let us know by email or in person at the office if you would like us to do this for you.  There is no service charge for credit card payments.

You may also add a different credit or debit card to pay the costume deposit. If you add a new card, please ensure that you select the appropriate default card for your monthly payments.

Please note: As outlined in the waiver form completed at registration, costume deposits are non-refundable.

A late fee will apply to any costume deposit that remains unpaid as of December 1, 2026.

Costumes will be needed for our annual Picture Day on Sunday, May 30, 2027, and our Year-End Recital on Saturday, June 12, and Sunday, June 13, 2027.

Reminder: Clothing and Attire for Classes

To ensure that all students can participate safely and comfortably, please make sure your child arrives dressed appropriately for their classes.

  • Tights are not recommended.

  • Tutus are permitted for ballet classes.

During the winter months, all hip hop students must bring an extra pair of running shoes to wear during class. Outdoor shoes that are wet, as well as boots, are not permitted in the studio.

Fundraising Initiatives

Our full-time competitive team will be attending Nationals this season! To help support our dancers and their journey, the team will be launching several fundraising initiatives throughout the season.

Our dancers have just wrapped up a very successful pizza order fundraiser and are currently selling Jibbitz at our Weston location. Please stop by the office to view the selection and make a purchase.

Further information about upcoming fundraising initiatives will be shared by email and posted at the studio.

Any support from our Dance Zone family is greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping our dancers reach their goals!

Health and Safety Reminders

With flu season upon us, we would like to remind everyone of the measures we have in place to help keep our facility healthy and safe.

Please keep your child home if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever above 37.8°C and/or chills.

  • A new or persistent cough.

  • Vomiting or diarrhea.

  • Sore throat or runny nose.

To help reduce congestion and the spread of illness, we also ask that, whenever possible, only one parent or guardian per child remain in the waiting area.

Once your child has finished dancing, please exit the studio promptly. We ask that all food be consumed outside the building, as food is not permitted in our waiting areas. This helps us maintain a clean facility and reduce potential exposure to allergens.

Students attending more than two classes may bring a nut-free snack to eat between classes inside their studio.

Only water is permitted inside our studios. Please ensure your child brings a refillable water bottle. A water station is available for your convenience.

Important Safety Reminders

For the safety of all students, please remember:

  • Socks, Crocs, and boots are not permitted in the studios.

  • Long hair must be neatly tied back and secured away from the face.

  • Jewelry must not be worn during classes, especially necklaces and bracelets.

Parking - Weston Location

Parking is available around the building, at the back of the building, and across the street.

Inclement Weather and Studio Closures

In the event of severe weather, we will notify families by email if the studio needs to close.

You can also check for updates by:

  • Calling the studio and listening to our voicemail message.

  • Checking our social media pages for the latest announcements.

Please remember that it is each parent's responsibility to check for closure announcements, as we are unable to contact every family individually regarding class cancellations or continuation.

Stay Connected on Social Media!

We encourage all our families who use social media to follow us for the latest news, announcements, and updates throughout the season.

For general information and studio announcements, please also visit our website:  www.thedancezone.ca
